E-mail Congress Think It Works?

I just e-mailed my member of Congress asking about his schedule of public appearances in August. This is a test of e-mail to see how well it works.

Motivate your members, activate their advocacy

Some of your members live in districts and states represented by very powerful members of Congress, some by very weak. Telling them about the power equation and the special impact they can have on leadership in Congress can be very motivational.
Show them this list of relative power:

You can also use this list to plan your organization's strategy making sure you cover key gatekeepers. Having a list of key elected officials for your specific issues will do the same thing.

I like to show a map of where key decision makers live. It's often surprising and opens the eyes of people who live in those states or districts.

Results from Lobby Day training for credit union league

Good example the results you can get from a lobby day training session and how to use to promote your next meeting at the capital.

Whenever you have your grass roots advocates together, think about how you will capture the event, recognize the work they've done, recruit others and promote your next event.

At the very least you can take pictures and put them on the web. Send and email to all points with a clickable link.
